《聯(lián)邦食品、藥品和化妝品法》是美國(guó)關(guān)于食品和藥品的基本法。經(jīng)過多次修改后,該法已成為世界同類法中最全面的一部法律。美國(guó)的許多州的這類立法與此法相似;也有些州規(guī)定將此法的任何新要求自動(dòng)加入州立法律之中。
《聯(lián)邦食品、藥品和化妝品法》禁止在美國(guó)銷售或進(jìn)口偽劣或標(biāo)識(shí)錯(cuò)誤的食品、藥品和化妝品。該法對(duì)偽劣或標(biāo)識(shí)錯(cuò)誤進(jìn)行了詳細(xì)定義,并且有許多司法解釋。另外,該法還禁止銷售需經(jīng)FDA批準(zhǔn)而未獲得批準(zhǔn)的物品,以及未獲得相應(yīng)報(bào)告的物品和拒絕對(duì)規(guī)定設(shè)施進(jìn)行檢查的廠家生產(chǎn)的產(chǎn)品。
