In the main dairy producing areas such as Hebei and Shandong provinces and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, many dairy farmers have begun to dump milk and even kill their cows due to falling milk prices.

由于滯銷降價，奶業(yè)主產區(qū)（main dairy producing areas）出現(xiàn)了“倒奶殺牛”現(xiàn)象（dump milk and even kill their cows）。據農業(yè)部統(tǒng)計，到2015年1月第一周，全國主產區(qū)生鮮乳（fresh milk）價格為每公斤3.67元，同比下降（a year-on-year drop） 12.4%。一些乳品加工企業(yè)（dairy processing enterprises）甚至停止收購鮮奶（stop purchasing fresh milk）。

目前的需求下降（fall in demand）主要對中小規(guī)模奶牛養(yǎng)殖戶（middle-and small-sized milk farmers）造成了打擊。一些專業(yè)人士呼吁有關部門保護國內奶農（domestic dairy farmers），以防止在奶業(yè)產區(qū)出現(xiàn)大范圍倒奶現(xiàn)象（large-scale dumping of milk）。
